Today is July 16, 2021. The New York based television channel, ‘Bangla Channel’ completes its second year and enters its third year.
There were lockdowns all over Bangladesh due to the outbreak of coronavirus epidemic. The lockdowns has been relaxed just two days ago on the occasion of Eid-UL-Azha. Shah J Chowdhury, President of Bangla Channel spoke with Ruposhi Bangla representative about this context. He said that, due to the Corona epidemic last year, the plan to celebrate the anniversary of the Bangla Channel in Dhaka could not be implemented. The situation has not improved much this year. At the very last
moment, with Eid in front of us, flexibility was imposed in the lockdown. At that time, preparations were underway to celebrate the anniversary. As a result, it was not possible to predict what the relaxed situation would be like. That is why the celebration plan has been limited to the family of Bangla Channel.

Communications Satellite Company Limited (BCSCL), Barisal-(4) MP, Pankaj Debnath, former BGMEA Vice President (Finance), Mohsin Uddin Ahmed Niru and from New York, USA, the New York Community Board Member-3 and community activist Fahad Solaiman has arrived. Additional DIG of Bangladesh Police Mohammad Barkat Ullah Khan was supposed to attend. But he regretted that he could not attend for personal reasons.
Today, only the members of Bangla Channel’s family, officers, employees and crews have celebrated this special day at Bangla Channel’s Dhaka office. The arrangement of the event was limited. This special day of entering the third year has been celebrated within the members of Bangla Channel. The event was directly supervised by the channel’s chairman AKM Fazlul Haque and president Shah J Chowdhury from New York.
Prominent people and people of different professions from Bangladesh, the United States and around the world have greeted through telephone, email and social media and wished the overall success and prosperity of Bangla Channel.
Tofail Ahmed, one of the top leaders of Bangladesh Awami League, a former commerce minister and a member of the Awami League’s advisory council, wished success and well-being on the occasion of Bangla Channel’s anniversary by telephone.
Bangladeshi Ambassador to the United States, M Shahidul Islam, Former Minister and Member of Parliament for Lalmonirhat-1, Mohammad Motahar Hossain, Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League and Member of Parliament for Gopalganj-1, Colonel Faruk Khan, President of Dhaka Journalists Union, Quddus Afrad, has sent their greetings on the occasion of the anniversary of Bangla Channel.
They wished that, Bangla Channel will introduce the new generation to Bengali culture, and will try to keep the Bengali culture by keeping the spirit of the liberation war above all, that is the expectation.

Shah J Chowdhury, President of Bangla Channel said that, due to the Corona epidemic, no special event was organized on the occasion of the anniversary last year. An event could be held in New York this year, but due to the lockdown, it could not be held in Bangladesh. He hopes that next year the world will overcome this epidemic. And, when the time is right, the celebration of Bangla Channel will also become more memorable.
