About Shah Group
On April 22, 2004, Shah Group was established in India by Shah J. Chowdhury. At first the group activity started with tourism. Tourism was a very limited activity. Shortly after the establishment, Shah J. Chowdhury started working with the media. The English newspaper, ‘Hindustan Surkhiyan’ was inducted.
16 years have been passed. Shah Group has entered the international arena. Spread to different parts of the world. The head office of the institution is in New York, USA. Now there are 11 different companies in Shah Group. The media is the center of all activities. The media of Shah Group is wandering in all modern mediums like printing, television and Internet. Shah J. Chowdhury founded Ruposhi Bangla Entertainment Network for the convenience of work.
If anyone wants to know the Bengali synonym of ‘entertainment’ we would say ‘relaxation’ without blinking an eye. It’s not a wrong word. But the exact meaning of the word ‘entertainment’ is much more than that. It means not only pleasures but also satisfactory. Ruposhi Bangla also assures quality and never compromise with it.
Enjoyment is the main goal and Ruposhi Bangla Entertainment Network is bound to this responsibility. From this perspective, with the promise of conveying the culture, beauty and color of Bengal to the immigrants and the people of different cultures, Shah J. Chowdhury created the online newspaper ‘Ruposhi Bangla.’
The journey continued with the introduction of ‘The Generation’ an English- language weekly newspaper predominantly run by the new generation of US expatriates. Right now the Generation Newspaper printed version distributing as a free copy for entire United States. Additionally, ‘Saptahik Deshkaal,’ initially published as a weekly, is set to expand its horizons in 2024.
The Third Eye Production has forwarded Ruposhi Bangla one more step. The Third Eye Production basically works for event management. The Third Eye Production used to organize photographs, videos, various social events as well as marriage planning. As a result, it became one of the complementary collaborators of Ruposhi Bangla.
Newspaper is a mass media, but the electronic media has already begun to take over it’s share. Yes, we’re talking about the Television. The world and its people have changed over time, we pronounce that changing as updating. Television has been running around almost a century. The appeal of newspaper is different and the most modern type of it is, Television.
Television is a device that combines science and technology. Television has been capturing man and his imagination since the beginning of civilization. But this imagination will not work alone. Imagination must be realistic, accurate and smoothly presentable. There has to be culture, economics, politics and entertainment. And certainly, a news. A single device called television is fulfilling almost all our mental needs like – pleasure, education, knowledge, advice, warnings.
To be tied-up with this maturation, Bangla Channel has been established with the ideal of ‘Ruposhi Bangla’.
‘Sound’ has its own world. At the end of the nineteenth century when radio was invented by using electromagnetic wave, ‘sound’ has taken a different place among people. Sound became the mainstream media of amusement. However, despite of being moved away from the mainstreaming position, radio still survives in its own world. With the touch of technology radio also got a digital form. It’s FM radio. In the realm of FM radio, the Shah Group presents ‘Radio Bangla,’ expanding its media reach to captivate audiences with captivating broadcasts.
As well as to sponsor and contribute to the publishing industry Shah J Chowdhury assembled Anuswar Publications. All kinds of books on literature and politics, newspapers and magazines will be published from here.
The Shah Foundation, a non-profit organization and charity has been inaugurated on 22 April 2017. The working ground of Shah Foundation extends across the United States, Bangladesh and India. Notably, in June 2022, when heavy rains and landslides left many homeless in Bangladesh’s Sylhet region, the foundation stepped in, offering relief and constructing shelters.
Shah Foundation is still carrying forward this work of human service through various charity and blood donation programs. This process is constantly active.
According to UNICEF, 45% of the total population of Bangladesh are children. More than 30 million of them are living below the poverty level. Children are the future of a country. Children are the propulsion of the country. Amenableness is a huge responsibility. Responsibility has been the driving force behind the idea of the Street Children Foundation. The name of the organization informs about its proceeding circumstances. This non-profit organization is working for those 30 million poor children.

Building one institution after another is useless unless it has a strong economic base. There are so many goals and plans and building institutions for its implementation, how to proceed if the economic supply is not uninterrupted and strong? Inevitably the taken steps will be hampered. The Shah Group has been formed to counter the possibility of this obstruction.
